Carbohydrates

Carbohydrates are the fastest source of energy (Carbon + Hydrogen + Oxygen) so it would be most beneficial to have a piece of fruit prior to exercise especially if you are doing high-intensity workouts like HIIT or Tabata style training in the morning.

My mentor Dr. Jack Barnathan would always say, “Eat for what you are about to do, not for what you have done!”

This approach can help with stabilizing blood sugar which we now know is when it’s not stable can cause weight gain due to hormone (imbalance) = variance, contrast, disproportion.🙌

Carbs are not the enemy if used properly and appropriately. When not being used for exercise studies have shown it’s best to allow a slow dump of carbs / sugar into the bloodstream. How by using protein as the elevator to carry the carbs slowly into your system to avoid blood sugar spike.

Have you ever noticed that when you eat just a carb by itself you feel like a few of the 7 dwarfs, sleepy, weepy, dumpy, groggy? 🤔😂

My advice is to stop making excuses and JUST DO IT!
